Symposium for a healthy Baltic Sea ? a shadow list of MSFD measures to turn the tide will be held on 14th-15th of October 2015 (midday to midday), at the University Rostock, Germany.

As the crucial phase in the implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) where countries are developing their programmes of measures to achieve or maintain Good Environmental Status in EU waters is coming to an end, we want to draw special attention to the Baltic Sea, its status and needs. Thus, we would like to invite representatives of government ministries/agencies and HELCOM as well as NGOs of neighbouring countries around the Baltic Sea to a small Symposium to determine what needs to be urgently done on a regional level to achieve a Good Environmental Status in the Baltic Sea by 2020.

SHORT ABOUT THE PROJECT

Project Industrial animal farms in the Baltic Sea Region - sustainable practices to reduce nutrient loads is a part of a long-term campaign of the Coalition Clean Baltic and Green Federation "GAJA", aiming to reduce the negative impact of large-scale animal production on the environment and local communities in the Baltic Sea Region, particularly by reducing nutrient run-off into the sea. The project is part-financed by the European Union. This website reflects only the view of the Coalition Clean Baltic.
