We recommend the website of the European Sustainable Phosphorus Platform - www.phosphorusplatform.eu. Its aim is to promote sustainable management of Phosphorus, as crucial for agriculture, food, industry, water and the environment. ESPP brings together companies and stakeholders to address the Phosphorus Challenge and its opportunities.

Thesephosphorus sustainability issues are closely linked to otherchallenges, including nitrogen management, water treatment, food waste, soil erosion, contaminants and food safety. Improving the efficiency ofphosphorus processing and its use in industry, agriculture, livestockproduction, food processing and diet, and developing strategies forreuse, recovery and recycling of phosphorus can save money, contributeto reducing nutrient pollution, and generate employment in the circulareconomy.

This Phosphorus Challenge was taken up by the European Sustainable Phosphorus Platform (ESPP), formed in March 2013 through a declaration , signed by over 150 organisations after the first European Sustainable Phosphorus Conference.ESPP ensures knowledge sharing, experience transfer and networking foropportunities in the field of phosphorus management, facilitatesdiscussion between the market, stakeholders and regulators, addressesregulatory obstacles, contributes to policy proposals, circulatesinformation by newsletters, website, conferences and publications, promotes Platform Members? activities, and contributes to define along-term vision for phosphorus sustainability in Europe.
