On 25-26 October 2019 an international conference GRASS 2019 will be held in Warsaw (Poland). The conference is co-organized by the Coalition Clean Baltic and the WWF Poland. During the conference, agricultural practices aimed at improving the condition of the Baltic Sea environment will be presented, as well as soil water retention, which is extremely important in the face of drought. Topics related to maintaining soil quality, organic farming and the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy will also be raised. The conference is combined with the awarding of the Farmer of the Year Award of the Baltic Sea Region 2019 - a farmer who runs a farm in a marine-friendly way, thus contributing to reducing eutrophication of waters.

SHORT ABOUT THE PROJECT

Project Industrial animal farms in the Baltic Sea Region - sustainable practices to reduce nutrient loads is a part of a long-term campaign of the Coalition Clean Baltic and Green Federation "GAJA", aiming to reduce the negative impact of large-scale animal production on the environment and local communities in the Baltic Sea Region, particularly by reducing nutrient run-off into the sea. The project is part-financed by the European Union. This website reflects only the view of the Coalition Clean Baltic.
