In the context of the proposed EU Commission JRC study to proposemodalities for exempting certain manure recycling nutrient products fromNitrates Directive ?processed manure? application limits, theNetherlands Government is calling for experts for an informal group toprovide evidence and input data to JRC. All experts in manureprocessing, in agronomy of recycled nutrient products, digestates orcomposts, or in environmental impacts and life cycle analysis ofnutrient recycling and recycled nutrients, are invited to contact, or tosend relevant data and publications to, Harm Smit, Ministry ofAgriculture, Nature and Food Quality h.j.smit@minez.nl.

Project Industrial animal farms in the Baltic Sea Region - sustainable practices to reduce nutrient loads is a part of a long-term campaign of the Coalition Clean Baltic and Green Federation "GAJA", aiming to reduce the negative impact of large-scale animal production on the environment and local communities in the Baltic Sea Region, particularly by reducing nutrient run-off into the sea.
