'BAT information exchange as the heart and driver of the IED' joint Workshop, organised by DG Environment and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, was held in Berlin, 16 and 17 October 2014, to take stock of 17 years' experience of BAT information exchanges under the IPPC Directive and IED. The aim was to share stakeholder experiences and explore suggestions to further improve the process and its products i.e. BREFs and BAT conclusions.

Project Industrial animal farms in the Baltic Sea Region - sustainable practices to reduce nutrient loads is a part of a long-term campaign of the Coalition Clean Baltic and Green Federation "GAJA", aiming to reduce the negative impact of large-scale animal production on the environment and local communities in the Baltic Sea Region, particularly by reducing nutrient run-off into the sea.
