6th Sustainable Phosphorus Summit is organized on 20-22 August 2018 in Embrapa, Brasília/Brazil.

SPS2018 is the 6th of a recent and successful series of summitswhichlaunched in 2010 in Linköping, Sweden. The subsequent summits tookplacein Tempe, USA in 2011; Sydney, Australia in 2012; Montpellier,France in2014 and Kunming, China in 2016.

The summit?s dynamic andmultidisciplinary format seeksto bring together scientists, policymakers and other industrystakeholders. The summit?s intention is toraise awareness and to betterunderstand the role phosphorus plays infood safety and agriculture, inorder to use it efficiently, and toprotect the environment while atthe same time supporting rural and urbanlivelihoods.

For the first time, the summit will be held inLatinAmerica, where phosphorus sustainability is a major concern.Whilesignificant progress on phosphorus sustainability has been madeinEurope and North America, SPS 2018 will also shine a light onregionalchallenges and opportunities in Latin America, Africa, Asia andthePacific.

Project Industrial animal farms in the Baltic Sea Region - sustainable practices to reduce nutrient loads is a part of a long-term campaign of the Coalition Clean Baltic and Green Federation "GAJA", aiming to reduce the negative impact of large-scale animal production on the environment and local communities in the Baltic Sea Region, particularly by reducing nutrient run-off into the sea.
