17th International RAMIRAN conference "Sustainable utilization of manures and residue resources in agriculture" will be held on 4-6 September 2017 in Wexford.

RAMIRAN (Recycling of Agricultural, Municipal and Industrial Residuesin Agriculture Network) is a research and expertise network dealing withenvironmental issues relating to the use of livestock manure and otherorganic residues in agriculture.

Theconference will focus on new cutting edge strategies to improve theefficiency of manure and residue management which will be exploredacross the full spectrum of research, from theory to implementation andadoption by stakeholders. The overall theme of RAMIRAN 2017 is'Sustainable utilization of manures and residue resources inagriculture', which will be examined under the following sub-themes:

  1. Advances in technologies
  2. Crop nutrition
  3. Gaseous emissions
  4. Soil & water quality
  5. Adoption and impact

Project Industrial animal farms in the Baltic Sea Region - sustainable practices to reduce nutrient loads is a part of a long-term campaign of the Coalition Clean Baltic and Green Federation "GAJA", aiming to reduce the negative impact of large-scale animal production on the environment and local communities in the Baltic Sea Region, particularly by reducing nutrient run-off into the sea.
